Aurelio Dominguez - The Duke of Mantua in Virginia Opera’s recent production of Rigoletto

 

A Venezuelan native, Mr. Dominguez appeared recently as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Rodolpho in La Boheme and Nemorino in L’Elisir D’Amore. He has also performed Marco with Opera Delaware’s production of The Gondoliers. He appeared as Tonio in The Daughter of the Regiment, and Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly; sang Tamino in The Magic Flute and Fairfax in Yeoman of the Guard; and performed La Traviata, Rigoletto, Lucrecia Borgia, and Rossini’s Petit Mass Sollennele with the Washington National Opera chorus.  His non-operatic repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah (which Mr. Dominguez has performed as conductor, soloist, and violinist); Bach’s Magnificat and Christmas Oratorio, and Mozart’s Requiem, C minor Mass “The Great”, and Coronation Mass. Mr. Dominguez will be performing the role of Camille in  The Merry Widow with the Delaware Opera , The Duke of Mantua with Maimi Lyric Opera and Hoffman in Tales of Hoffman with River Band Opera.
