Mission

Virginia Opera’s Bravissimo Society is a dynamic organization of volunteers from the DC area who promote interest in and educate the community about opera, support Virginia Opera (VO) productions, and encourage and assist the career and educational development of talented young artists through different programs including Musicales and the Vocal Award Competition.

A Venezuelan native, Mr. Dominguez appeared recently as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Rodolpho in La Boheme and Nemorino in L’Elisir D’Amore. He has also performed Marco with Opera Delaware’s production of The Gondoliers. more

Heldentenor - A type of tenor voice which hearkens back to the golden age of Wagnerian singing; the typical heldentenor has an unusually brilliant top register (high notes) combined with a muscular lower voice, almost like a baritone, and is capable of long passages that require great vocal stamina. Tristan and Siegfried are great heldentenor roles.
