Pat Skantze was born the youngest of ten children. She was raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Pat graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Drama from Birmingham Southern College.
Pat had a notable career as a fashion model on the runway and in print. She worked in television, primarily in commercials and as a talk show host. Pat also enjoyed working in radio as an on-air personality and doing voice-over work.
Devoting much of her time to many worthwhile charities and causes, Pat has had the privilege to work with the following organizations: International Eye Foundation (Gala Co-Chair); Board of Associates of the National Rehabilitation Hospital (Member, Past President, and Gala Chair); Arts for the Aging (AFTA) (Committee Member); Women’s Committee of the Washington Ballet (Member and Past President); Cultural Tourism DC (Celebrity Chef Challenge Gala Chair); Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary (Member and Fashion Show Co-Chair).
Pat is an active and long-standing member of several organizations and clubs including: Capital Speakers Club (Member and Past President); Welcome to Washington International Club (Member and Diplomatic Liaison); Virginia Opera Bravissimo Society (Founding Board Member).
Having been associated with the Military Community for several decades, Pat was responsible for planning and staging social events and seminars for military members and foreign dignitaries.
Pat is married to Gen. Lawrence A. Skantze (Retired), former Vice Chief of Staff for the U.S. Air Force. They have three grown children: Lawrence, Patricia Anne, and Vanessa.
