Issachah Savage

ISSACHAH SAVAGE- Tenor -Among Issachah Savage’s operatic credits are the roles of Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana and Ramon in La Navarraise (with which he made his New York Opera Orchestra debut), Mark Antony in the world premiere of Leslie Savoy-Burr’s opera Egypt’s Night (with Opera North of Philadelphia), Otello and Cassio in Otello, Samson in Samson and Delilah, and Canio in Pagliacci.  His concert and oratorio repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Adolphus Hailstork’s I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes, Nathaniel Dett’s The Ordering of Moses, and the world premiere concert and recording of Wynton Marsalis’s All Rise.  Mr. Savage is a recipient of a Richard F. Gold Career Grant and awards from the Shoshana Foundation and the Olga Forrai Foundation.  In addition, he is the winner of numerous national and international vocal competitions organized by such entities as the Gerda Lissner Foundation, the Giulio Gari International Competition, the Licia Albanese International Competition, and Opera Index.  Mr. Savage has been selected as the first Scholar Artist of the Marian Anderson Historical Society.
