JENNIFER EDWARDS- Soprano- her recent performances include the title role in Manon with Peabody Opera, Juliette in Romeo et Juliette with Chesapeake Chamber Opera, Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos with Seattle Opera, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte with Peabody Opera, Despina in Così fan tutte with Chesapeake Chamber Opera, and the soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem with the Sioux City Symphony.
As a recitalist, she presented four art song recitals as a part of the 2010 Art Song Discovery Series. In 2009, she was a District winner of the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Auditions.
Ms. Edwards is a student at the Peabody Institute where she is a recipient of the Lydia Richard Gillespie Endowed Scholarship and studies in the studio of the internationally acclaimed soprano, Phyllis Bryn Julson. While at the Peabody Institute, she has performed as a soprano soloist in Mozart’s Mass in C Minor, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 as well as Violetta in La Traviata and The Woman in The Yellow Wallpaper composed by Catherine Reid. Other operatic credits include Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Adele in Die Fledermaus, and Monica in The Medium. She has been the recipient of prizes in numerous competitions, among them the 2009 Russell C. Wonderlic Voice Competition, the 2008 Rhode Island Bel Canto Competition, and the 2008 Sylvia Green Competition
