Lindsay Russell

LINDSAY RUSSELL-Soprano- her forthcoming performances include Sophie in Werther and Norina in Don Pasquale as a Young Artist with Seattle Opera as well as Frasquita in Carmen and Young Woman in Jeanine Tesori’s A Blizzard in Marblehead Neck with Glimmerglass Opera.  In April 2011, she won the grand prize at the Florida Grand Opera Young Patronesses of Opera Competition.  In 2012, she will make her debut with the Yakima Symphony Orchestra as a soloist in Carmina Burana. During the 2010-2011 season, Ms. Russell sang the role of Laurie Moss in The Tender Land at Glimmerglass Opera and covered the role of Gilda in Rigoletto with Virginia Opera.  She also was seen in the American Musical Theater Ensemble’s production of And the World Goes Round:  The Songs of Kander and Ebb.  In 2009, she attended the Aspen Music Festival, where she sang Belinda in Dido and Aeneas and covered the role of Musetta in La Bohème.  Other performances include Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Genevieve in Suor Angelica, Jenny in Street Scene, Ms. Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro.   Ms. Russell holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from James Madison University and a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music.  While at the Manhattan School of Music, she performed the roles of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Gilda in Rigoletto, Lydie in Fauré’s Pénélope, Iris in Semele, and Simpkin the Cat in Robert Sirota’s The Tailor of Gloucester.
