PATRICK COOK- Tenor- Patrick Cook sings a varied repertoire, ranging from the baroque works of Bach, Handel, and Purcell to the contemporary works of today. His recent operatic performances have been in Tosca with Annapolis Opera, Susannah with the Opera Company of Brookyln, and Les Huguenots with Bard SummerScape. In 2007 and 2008, he was a studio artist with the Wolf Trap Opera Company where he performed roles in Ariadne auf Naxos and L’Etoile. His other operatic performances include Four Saints in Three Acts with the Bard Conservatory and The Mother of Us All and Die Zauberflöte with the Juilliard Opera Workshop. An avid performer of new music, Mr. Cook debuted at Carnegie Hall in Scenes from Dog Days by David T. Little as a part of the Osvaldo Golijov/Dawn Upshaw Composing Song Workshop. He appears regularly as a recitalist, chamber musician, and concert soloist with the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, The Washington Chorus, The Wagner Society of Washington DC, and the Berkshire Bach Society. Mr. Cook is a 2010 District of Columbia District winner of the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Auditions and a 2009 semifinalist in the Houston Grand Opera’s Eleanor McCollum Competition. A native of Baltimore, Maryland and a graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts, he holds a Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School and a Master of Music degree from Bard Conservatory. Mr. Cook is a doctoral student in the Maryland Opera Studio at the University of Maryland where he studies with Gran Wilson.
